24-7 Prayer have created this resource and made it available for free. Can you donate to 24-7 Prayer and help us to help others encounter God in prayer?
Both prayer courses have been created for Christians to grow and deepen in prayer, but anyone who is interested in Christian Prayer is welcome to join either course.
Yes! During the current Coronavirus Pandemic, we are actively encouraging groups to run the courses online.
We’ve produced a guide to help with all the practical details on the “Run” section of the Prayer Course website.
We recommend running The Prayer Course first because it sets a really good grounding and understanding of the different types of prayer, which will be helpful with the content that is covered in the Prayer Course II.
However, the Prayer Course II: Unanswered Prayer is a stand-alone resource specifically focused on the challenges of unanswered prayer and will be accessible and understandable to those who haven’t completed The Prayer Course.
The Prayer Course consists of eight sessions which are designed to take an hour each.
The Prayer Course II: Unanswered Prayer consists of five sessions which are designed to take 90 minutes each.
Both prayer courses have been created by 24-7 Prayer, an international prayer movement aiming to resource and equip the church to pray.
Yes, both courses are free for you to use in your church or small group. If you’d like to donate to the work of 24-7 Prayer, you are welcome to do so.

Yes – you can use an HDMI cable to connect your laptop to your TV. Alternatively if you have a smart TV, you can find the videos on Youtube.
Unfortunately, we don’t have plans to produce DVDs of course sessions. The sessions can be watched on a television by linking a laptop via an HDMI cable, or for Smart TVs, by searching “The Prayer Course” or “The Prayer Course II” on Youtube.
Yes, for both courses there is a leader’s guide to help you run the course, and every session has small group notes which help to facilitate the course.
The discussion questions have been written to complement the video content and help your group to engage together about what they’ve just watched, but don’t worry if you go off topic or don’t get through all the questions!
Both courses have been created with small groups in mind, and work well with 4-10 people. However, they can also be used in individual and larger group contexts; just bear in mind that some of the activities may need to be adapted.
For The Prayer Course, we’d highly recommend purchasing How to Pray by Pete Greig as a complementary resource. For The Prayer Course II: Unanswered Prayer, we’d highly recommend purchasing God on Mute by Pete Greig as a complementary resource.
This is because there will be additional material in the book that will supplement the course content, but it is not essential to purchase the book in order to understand the content of the course
Yes, we’ve put a pack of promotional materials together on the ‘run’ section of the Prayer Course and Prayer Course II websites.
